And then again, maybe I will just change my mind

In my last post, I gave a brief summary of my current situation, and I said that since I can not currently do any running, I am going to save my posts for when I am fully rehabilitated as a sort of incentive to get back on the road.  Here are the three reasons why I am going to do a one-eighty and start blogging.

1)  I like to write.  While I certainly can not run like I would want to, nothing is preventing me from writing like I like to.  My rehab has been a little longer than I thought it would be, so I have had plenty of time to think up new posts and fine tune some things that I previously wanted to post about.

2)  I can blog about my rehab.  My daughter is in medical school; she will have the letters "M.D." after her name in a few months.  She told me that it not only would be interesting to record what I am doing to get myself back into running shape, but it might also serve as an inspiration to someone who is in similar circumstances.  I can not say that I have done anything super unique in my therapy, but if it can help anyone else in any way, I will be glad to share my routine.

3)  It will be easier to get into a "writing rhythm" when I return to running.  This one is fairly self-explanatory.  I do not want to forget about the blog when I start running again.  Getting some posts in now would probably go a long way to help that.

I think I am going to post a general overview of my rehab and where I stand currently in my next posts, which hopefully will come more sooner than later.  I also have a pretty good idea about some other postings that I am going to publish.  Until then, thanks for reading.

And yet, there are no posts about running......

If you have stumbled across this blog, you may be asking yourself, "if it is a blog about running, why are there no posts about running?"  In July of this year, I was involved in a serious automobile accident which has rendered me pretty much useless in terms of running even for the smallest distances.  While I could scramble and post some of my thoughts pre-accident, I think I am going to wait until I am back on the road before I write about anything.  I think it will give me some incentive to get back to full fitness again.  My long-term goal is to be able to run a 10K in my hometown in late April, however, my injuries are something of a day to day thing.  In the meantime, I will try to tidy up the blog's presentation (this is all too new to me as well) and hope that you might revisit it in the future.
